PRIVILEGE CARD:

The following conditions and restrictions apply to the use of your card. The card is only valid for the period stated. Your card must be presented at the point of sale to obtain a discount. No discount can be given on valuations, gold coins, gold bullion, books, or any other item at the discretion of Alistir Wood Tait Ltd. A Privilege discount cannot be given in conjunction with any other sale or reduction in price, interest free credit agreement, credit note, voucher, or LMG purchase. The Privilege Card holder is only entitled to a discount at the discretion of Alistir Wood Tait Ltd.

EXCHANGE POLICY:

​

We are happy to exchange goods purchased from our shop, if returned within six weeks of purchase with the original receipt, box (undamaged) and any accompanying documents that were issued eg. laboratory diamond/pearl/gemstone grading report, or Alistir Wood Tait report/certificate in pristine condition.

We regret that we cannot exchange the following - earrings, special commissions, special orders or any article which has been adjusted for finger size, engraved, personalised, or altered in any way. All exchanges are completely at the discretion of Alistir Wodd Tait Ltd.

LMG GEMCHECK CARD:

​

We will accept your LMG Gemcheck Card within the terms of our agreement and contract with Loss Management Group (LMG).

​

Jewellery articles may only be purchased with your Gemcheck Card at our full retail price as ticketed on the item. Articles cannot be sold at a sale price or at any reduction. No discounts can be offered nor may the Privilege Card be used for this purchase. Your jewellery is being purchased by Loss Management Group who have already negotiated exclusive purchase terms with Alistir Wood Tait Ltd.

INSURANCE VALUATIONS:

We regret that discounts (including Privilege Card) cannot be offered on valuation work.

SINGLE USE CARRIER BAGS CHARGE (SCOTLAND) REGULATIONS 2014:

​

A charge of 5p is levied on customers for each carrier bag provided. A receptacle for this purpose is clearly marked and provided at the point of sale.

JEWELLERY "LAID ASIDE" OR "RESERVED":

​

Customers often request that we lay aside or reserve an item of jewellery for them to consider before a potential purchase. Jewellery may be laid aside on request and at the discretion of Alistir Wood Tait Ltd but it is in no way exclusively reserved. The item may be removed from display but may be shown or sold to another customer, or returned to display at the discretion of Alistir Wood Tait Ltd.

JEWELLERY PURCHASED AND DEPOSITS:

​

A deposit is a first payment on a purchase or sale (only). If subsequently a client no longer wishes to pay the remaining balance due then the customer must purchase another different item of their choice (or credit note), to the same value, provided the first item is not a special commission, special order, nor if the article has been sized, altered, engraved, or personalised in any way. A refund will not be given. Title to all goods remains with Alistir Wood Tait Ltd. until all payments have been made in full and any contract of purchase will be considered cancelled if an article has not been fully paid within six months or on request by Alistir Wood Tait Ltd.

RETIRAL SALE TERMS & CONDITIONS

We are sad to announce that after forty years in business Alistir Tait is retiring and our shop will be closing, probably around Easter 2020.

SALE TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

​

For the period of our Retiral Sale we are offering dramatic discounts and markdowns on our jewellery and no further discount can be deducted from the advertised price. Payment may be made in the usual way by cash, debit card or credit card (excluding American Express). Goods must be paid in full at the point of sale.

​

DEPOSITS AND RESERVATIONS:

 

Items cannot be reserved or laid aside and deposits cannot be accepted.

 

PAYMENTS FROM INSURANCE COMPANIES:

​

No payments can be accepted directly from an insurance company, nor can a LMG (Loss Management Group) Gemcheck Card be accepted for articles at sale prices.

​

CREDIT NOTES AND SPECIAL ORDERS:

​

Goods cannot be purchased with a Credit Note except at full price. A 10% discount only is available on Special Orders.

 

REFUNDS AND EXCHANGES:

 

We regret that once purchased articles cannot be exchanged or refunded.

ALTERATIONS AND VALUATIONS:

​

A nominal charge will be made for any additional work undertaken such as finger sizing, engraving, an alteration or personalisation of any kind to a sale item including a valuation document.

 

ON-LINE PURCHASES:

​

Sale prices are available in-store only and do not apply to jewellery purchased on-line from our website or from our Etsy shops.
